Education Events and COVID-19 Update

Update as a result of COVID-19

Given the current situation with COVID-19, we have made the decision to postpone all of our face-to-face education for the time being, which we will reschedule as soon as it is appropriate to do so.

This decision relates to our pelvic floor focus workshops, our community education sessions (facilitated by our Continence Educator, Janet Thackray), along with the women's health and paediatric education days we had planned for September.

If COVID-19 escalates and we are unable to reschedule the education days that were due to be held in September by the end of the year, we will work towards offering online education sessions/webinars to ensure that we can still cover off the topics that were of interest to so many of our members. We will also be working to provide some education for community members via video/teleconferencing (alongside proactively promoting our helpline), and will keep you updated as our plans progress.

We are highly aware that many of our members work within the DHB environment. We want to ensure that we, like all of New Zealand, offer our support to the amazing people working on the front-line, and that we are working to limit non-essential social contact right now.

Our helpline remains active from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with Janet Thackray (a registered nurse and continence nurse specialist) answering calls each Monday and Tuesday, as well as Wednesday mornings. We will also be working on a variety of projects in the background, including our campaign for World Continence Week.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can be of any support in these challenging times.

Kind regards,

Louise Judd
