Australian and New Zealand Continence Journal

Continence journal  

The Australian and New Zealand Continence Journal (ANZCJ) is a scientific, partially peer reviewed journal, produced under the auspice of the Continence Foundation of Australia and the New Zealand Continence Association (NZCA) on a quarterly basis.  

The ANZCJ is the only multidisciplinary journal dedicated to researching the diagnosis, treatment and management of incontinence, bringing together the medical, nursing and allied health specialties of:  

· nursing  

· gastroenterology  

· gerontology  

· paediatrics 

· physiotherapy 

· urogynaecology, and  

· urology.

The ANZCJ is listed on a number of medical databases.  These include:  

· Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL)  

· InfoRMIT  

· Ebsco, and  

· Australian Medical Index.  

The ANZCJ is a member of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and follows the recommendations of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). It is recommended that all authors review the ICMJE guidelines 'The Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals' - before submitting papers.

Submission of papers 

The ANZCJ invites original research papers, and other scholarly manuscripts relating to the diagnosis, treatment and management of incontinence. All papers submitted for peer review are blind reviewed by two members of the Peer Review Board, or those persons with the expertise and academic qualifications that they may be deemed as peers by the Editor. Whilst the journal is primarily dedicated to Australian and New Zealand research, it also accepts international research studies.    

Submissions to the journal may also include:  

· letters to the editor (maximum 250 words) 

· case studies  

· article critiques  

· personal profiles  

· book reviews  

· clinical issues papers, and  

· evaluation of product information.  

These should be 500 -1000 words in length.    

First time authors are encouraged to submit papers / submissions to the ANZCJ which is supported by the Editorial Committee and Production Editor.  Papers may be submitted to the production editor via e-mail at jacmil@bigpond.com or the Cambridge Publishing web based manuscript system.  Please read the Instructions for Authors Guide and ensure all papers / submissions are accompanied by the Competing Interest Statement.
